FEC invited H. E. Mr. Ihor Kharchenko, Ambassador of the Republic of Ukraine to Japan to an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Hotel Okura Tokyo on July 2. Although a cease- fire agreement in eastern Ukraine was announced, it seems difficult to predict how the situation in Ukraine will develop. They warn a new Cold War between Russia and U.S., What happens to the future of the Ukraine which is the country directly concerned? Mr. Hiromichi Fujita, Chairman of FEC Japan-Europe Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Executive Advisor and Former Chairman of Toppan Printing Co., Ltd made a welcome speech, “Ukraine and Japan have developed mutual cooperation on many global issues, keeping excellent relations. I am afraid Ukraine faces tough political and economic conditions with complicated domestic situation. Although the situation changes every moment, we would like to hear from  Ambassador frankly about the present condition of the Ukraine and so on today.” Ambassador Kharchenko expressed detailed explanation and frank impressions about the current situation of Ukraine and Japan- Ukraine relations. After the speech, there were active Q&As including Ukraine-Russia relations and energy issues.
