The“56th Middle East Study Meeting” was held on the topic of “Current and Future Prospects of Turkey-Japan Relationship”.

A regime of an Islamic political party, while maintaining the balance between modernity as a democratic state and Islamic color, Turkey has achieved the stability of domestic politics and economic growth. Having established a business and good diplomatic relations with EU, Middle East and Asia, Turkey increases its presence as a cornerstone of stability in the Middle East.

Mr.Hiroshi Saito, Vice Chairman of FEC and Honorary Advisor of Mizuho Financial Group said in his greeting remark that “The FEC mission will visit Turkey in November following last year. Japan’s friendly ties with Turkey are strong and investments by Japanese companies are active recently. Most of the members of the mission are attending today, and we expect the lecture of the ambassador as the final stage of our pre-study.” H. E. Mr. Serdar Kilic, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey talked in detail about foreign policy of Turkey, the policy over Syria and economic relations with Japan.

After the lecture, we made a lively exchange of ideas and questions on topics including the Syria situation and the FTA (Free Trade Agreement).
