FEC

FEC sent the 12th FEC Delegation to Viet Nam from October 1 for 7 days. The delegation, headed by Mr. Yoshihiko Nakagaki, Chairman of FEC Japan–Viet Nam Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee (Honorary Counselor of Electric Power Development Co., Ltd.), consisted of 11FEC members. Mr. Norio Yamaguchi, Chairman of FEC Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee (Senior Corporate Advisor of AJINOMOTO Co., Inc.) joined as Special Advisor, and Mr. Hiroyuki Yushita, Senior Managing Director of FEC joined as Advisor. The Delegation visited Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh.

Prior to departure, the Delegation had a chance to hear a lecture by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, Ambassador of Viet Nam. They also got a briefing from a senior officer of Japanese MOFA on the latest information about Viet Nam.

During the stay in Hanoi, FEC Delegation made a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung. They visited Ministry of Planning and Investment, and Ministry of Industry and Trade, and so on for exchanging views with senior officers of the current administration. In Thừa Thiên-Huế Province, they had a meeting with Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Standing Vice Chairman, the People’s Committee ofThừa Thiên-Huế Province. They also visited World Heritage buildings. In Ho Chi Minh, they met Mr. Le Thanh Liem, First Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and a senior officer of the Japanese Business Association of Ho Chi Minh City. It was a meaningful opportunity for the members to deepen their understanding about the movement of the northern, central and southern province governments of Vietnam, the current regional situation, and requests for Japanese companies.
