FEC hosted a welcoming breakfast meeting for H.E. Mr. Lundeg Prevsuren, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, at Imperial Hotel Tokyo on May 31.From Mongolia side 7 people attended including Ambassador Khurelbaatar and Mr. G. Byambasuren, Deputy Director, Department of Asia, Middle East and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From Japan side 9 people attended including FEC President Matsuzawa, Mr. Naohiko Ito, Chairman of FEC Japan-Mongolia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Corporate Adviser to Japan Freight Railway Co., Ltd. and Mr. Takuo Kidokoro, Advisor of FEC Japan-Mongolia Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Designated Professor of Nagoya University, former Ambassador to Mongolia.

At the beginning, Mr. Matsuzawa said, “Since being appointed as President’s foreign policy adviser in 2009, Minister Prevsuren has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Economic Cooperation, and as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has been very successful through the implementation and guidance of foreign policy. In Japan, we know very well about Ambassador Khurelbaatar’s extensive efforts and achievements.

In response, Foreign Minister Prevsuren said,” I am delighted to receive warm welcome at this breakfast meeting from Mr. Matsuzawa and other Japanese people. It is largely due to FEC’s efforts that Mongolia and Japan have a good relationship like present. One of the first nonstop flights from Mongolia to Japan was realized with the cooperation of the FEC.Next year is the memorable year, which is the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and we are discussing with the Japanese government to make a new plan. The Japan-Mongolia Economic Partnership Agreement will come into force on June 7 and I am confident that the economic cooperation relationship between the two countries will advance to a new stage.
