FEC invited H. E. Mr. Evgeny Vladimirovich Afanasiev, Ambassador of Russia to Japan, to give a speech at the Nagoya International Seminar at Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel on September 10. The Seminar, with the theme of “Current Status of Russia and New Prospects of Russia-Japan Relationship”, was organized by FEC and was sponsored by Chubu Economic Federation and Nagoya Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Prior to the Seminar, Ambassador Afanasiev and Mr. Oleg, Russian Consulate-General in Osaka, made a courtesy call on Nagoya mayor Takashi Kawamura at his office attended by FEC President Matsuzawa and then FEC held a Luncheon Meeting for Ambassador Afanasiev with attendance of Mr. Hideaki Omura, the Governor of Aichi Prefecture and other eminent guests. After the Seminar, the Ambassador’s party visited the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology by courtesy of Toyota Motor Corporation, an FEC member, and learned the history of the industrial development in Nagoya.
