This delegation was a first large scale delegation from Japan after a new government was launched in Mongolia in August.

Mongolia, sharing a common border with China and Russia, has a desire to strengthen  relationship with Japan as a third neighboring country. Therefore, building a network with the Mongolia’s new cabinet right from its start was a meaningful opportunity for the FEC members to promote further relationship between Japan and Mongolia.

In Ulaanbaatar, FEC members paid a courtesy call on H. E. President Tsakhia Elbegdorj. They also exchanged views about the cooperation between our two countries in the field of economy, logistics, education and medical services with new cabinet members including H. E. Foreign Minister Luvsanvandan Bold. Mongolia continues a rapid economic progress due to their rich mineral resources. But, to achieve further development, Mongolian government officials expressed they expected technical and financial assistance and cooperation from Japan to realize export after processing natural resources and adding some values.

Additionally, due to their high expectation for enhancement of education and development of human resources, Japan can play an important role in the field of education.

FEC would follow up the result of the visit and try to make the visit to produce concrete results.
