FEC's Vision

GREETINGS

Greetings

Aiming for diplomacy supported by the people

Since its establishment in May 1983, The International Friendship and Economic Exchange Council (FEC) has made continuous efforts to deepen exchanges and mutual understanding at the private level through various projects, including economic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges with countries around the world.

The heartfelt human connections we strive for will never diminish in importance, no matter how times change. Relations between nations are influenced by the political and economic conditions of the time. That is precisely why it is becoming increasingly important to build strong relationships of trust and cultivate mutual understanding, relationships that are not swayed by the trends of the times.

Although my abilities are limited, I would like to work together with all of you to promote private diplomacy and take one step at a time toward achieving international goodwill and world peace.

The International Friendship and Economic Exchange Council

BASIC PHILOSOPHY

Basic Philosophy

Our association (FEC) advocates the following three pillars:

1. For world peace and prosperity

In today's world, the peace and prosperity of our nation cannot be discussed without considering world peace and prosperity. The entire world is now interconnected and interdependent. Our association's fundamental principle is to contribute to world peace and prosperity by promoting friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding with people from other countries.

2. Responding to the era of globalization

Never before has the importance of international relations been so widely recognized. Advances in transportation, communication, and information have shrank the globe both temporally and spatially, allowing events in one region to instantly spread and impact the entire world. This trend is expected to intensify, making it even more crucial for local communities to adapt to globalization. This association strives to deepen the awareness of internationalization among the entire nation.

3. In order to promote stronger intergovernmental diplomacy

This association will promote organized foreign exchange at the private level (private diplomacy) by combining the vitality of the private sector with the expertise of the government. Private-level exchanges and mutual understanding among people across national borders are becoming increasingly important.
This association, comprised of individuals with deep expertise in diplomacy and international affairs from both the public and private sectors, as well as ambassadors from various countries stationed in Japan, will leverage its unique position in private diplomacy to pool wisdom, reflect public opinion in diplomacy, and contribute to the development and expansion of mutually beneficial relationships with people from all countries.
