On February 4, Ken Matsuzawa, Chairman of the FEC, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tokyo and paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Farid Younis Org Talibov.
At the outset, the Ambassador explained the current state of Japan-Azerbaijan relations and the regional situation, and an exchange of views took place regarding the possibilities of cooperation in a wide range of fields, including energy, infrastructure, tourism, and cultural exchange. In response, Chairman Matsuzawa stated that continuous people-to-people exchanges and the accumulation of concrete projects are important for deepening mutual understanding, and expressed his intention to contribute to the development of relations between the two countries from the standpoint of private diplomacy.
FEC and the Azerbaijani Embassy have a long history of friendly relations, and during this meeting, they agreed to further strengthen their cooperative relationship. They also agreed to actively co-host business forums and other events with the Embassy.
The ambassador also proposed that FEC organize a delegation to visit Azerbaijan, expressing his intention to create opportunities for exchange with local government officials and business leaders. Chairman Matsuzawa welcomed this suggestion and responded that he would like to make arrangements to realize it at an appropriate time.
This courtesy visit reaffirmed the mutual trust between the two sides and marked an important step toward concrete cooperation in the future. The FEC intends to continue deepening its friendship and cooperation with Azerbaijan and promoting international exchange at the private level.
