Message

Toshiya Ogata, Executive Director of the Foreign Economic Council (FEC), visited Ambassador Wan Hadfi Ruthfan bin Haji Abdul Latif of Brunei Darussalam to Japan. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in International Relations and Politics from Coventry University, the Ambassador joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gaining experience in the Political Bureau and the Policy Planning Bureau. He has served as Deputy High Commissioner for Kuala Lumpur and Director-General of the Asian and African Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and since 2022 has served as Ambassador to East Timor, where he was awarded a color medal. He assumed the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan in October 2025, a position he holds to this day.
