On December 17, The International Friendship and Economic Exchange Council (FEC) hosted a dinner for Ukrainian Ambassador to Japan, Yuri Ludvinov. Chairman Matsuzawa and eight other members attended.
At the outset, Chairman Matsuzawa welcomed Ambassador Yuri, with whom he has had close ties since his time as Minister at the Ukrainian Embassy in Japan, to his new position as ambassador. He also reiterated the donation of 2000 blankets from Ukraine during the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, expressing his gratitude for the warm support over the years. Attendees introduced themselves, and the exchange was conducted in a consistently friendly atmosphere, including discussions about past European delegations sent by the FEC to Ukraine. Japan and Ukraine are expected to have various possibilities for cooperation in the future, not only in reconstruction and humanitarian aid, but also in areas such as technological development and innovation.
