On September 26, Toshiya Ogata, Executive Director of FEC, participated in the East Timor Business Forum hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources at the Osaka-Kansai Expo site, at the invitation of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of East Timor and Mr. Iwao Kitahara, former Ambassador to East Timor and current Chairman of the Japan-East Timor Association. The forum featured presentations and a panel discussion by the country's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, Job Brites dos Santos, Director of the Timor-Leste Institute of Geosciences (IGTL), and Andrew John Butler, CEO of Sunda Energy. Representatives from Japan, including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Osaka Gas, also attended.
