Executive Director Ogata visited Ambassador Abdelahhi Kebdou, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Japan. The Ambassador studied at the Faculty of Law, University of Nouakchott (Mauritania) and obtained a Master of Laws degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Orleans (France). After obtaining an Advanced Degree in Political Science (DEA) from the Institute of Political Studies in Grenoble (IEP), he began his career as an official in the Mauritanian Presidential Office. He then served as counselor in the United States, Tunisia, and Spain, before becoming First Counsellor and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy, as well as acting representative to Rome-based UN agencies (Food and Agriculture Fund (FAO), World Food Programme (WFP), International Agricultural Fund (IFAD)), Consul General in Niger, Ambassador to Brazil, and Ambassador to Belgium (countries under his jurisdiction: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden, EU, NATO, OPCW). He then served as a spokesperson for candidate Ghazwani during his presidential campaign for the May 2024 election before assuming his current position in May 2025.
