On July 8, FEC held an Executive Luncheon Meeting at the Embassy of Germany thanks to the kindness of H.E. Ms. Ina Lepel, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. At the beginning, FEC President Ken Matsuzawa made opening remarks and said, “Since the Meiji Restoration over 150 years ago, Japan has learned from Germany about medicine, pharmacy, industry, chemical technology, political system, etc. We believe that the two countries, whose basic principles are democracy and freedom, will continue to learn from each other and make efforts to contribute to the stability and development of the world and the happiness of people. I would like to thank and respect Ambassador Lepel for this opportunity”. Ambassador Ina Lepel made a speech on the theme of “German-Japan relations in turbulent times – how can both countries shape a safe future?”. After her speech, the attendees introduced themselves and there was a lively exchange of opinions and Q&As.
