FEC sent the 11th FEC Delegation to India from March 17 for 8 days. The delegation, consisting of 10 FEC members, was led by Mr. Kenichi Watanabe, Chairman of FEC Japan-India Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee (Senior Advisor to the Board, Nomura Holdings,Inc.), and Mr. Hiroshi Hirabayashi, Advisor of FEC Japan-India Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee (President of The Japan-India Association) joined as Advisor. The Delegation visited Delhi and Mumbai.
Prior to departure, the Delegation had a chance to get a briefing from a senior officer of Japanese MOFA on the latest information about India.
During the stay in Delhi, FEC Delegation made courtesy calls on Mr. Alphons Kannanthanam, Minister of Tourism, and Mr. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Coal. They visited Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development, Ministry of Power and so on for useful exchanging views. In Mumbai, they had meetings with Mr. Sumit Mullick, Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, Managing Director & CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange, and others. It was a meaningful opportunity for the members to deepen their understanding about the current situation of India.
